Division Introduction
The Assessment Division objectively evaluates the quality of testing and operational level of medical institutions in Korea and supports improvement of test reliability and management systems.
Through the Outstanding Laboratory Certification Program and referral medical laboratory inspection, the division aims to establish standardized testing systems and improve patient safety.
Major Activities
- Operation of the Outstanding Laboratory Certification assessment system.
- Receipt of certification inspection applications, review of results, and referral to the Laboratory Certification Committee.
- Assignment of on-site inspection team leaders and management of inspectors.
- Receipt and review of certification inspection appeals and referral to committees.
- Granting provisional certification when specialized referral medical laboratories open.
- Operation of referral testing inspection teams.
- Operation and management of Comprehensive Verification.
- Calculation of specimen testing quality add-on fees.
- Assignment of resident observer institutions for certification inspection.
