August 2009Temporary council meeting and founders' general meeting held to establish a foundation funded by the society.
September 2009Application submitted to the Ministry of Health and Welfare for permission to establish the foundation “Quality Management Standard Institute for Laboratory Medicine.”
November 2009The first review by the Ministry of Health and Welfare Nonprofit Corporation Review Committee deferred approval and requested a change of corporate name and revision of the articles of incorporation.
March 2010Name changed to Laboratory Medicine Foundation and part of the articles of incorporation revised, followed by request for re-review to the Health and Medical Policy Division of the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
April 2010The second review by the Ministry of Health and Welfare Corporation Review Committee approved establishment of the Laboratory Medicine Foundation.
May 2010Foundation establishment permit issued by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
June 2010Foundation registration completed with the court.
July 2010Business registration certificate issued, and registration of the foundation and transfer of contributed funds reported to the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
February 2012Laboratory Medicine Foundation office relocated to Le Meilleur Jongno Town, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
January 2013Inspection and assessment for outstanding laboratories and referral testing laboratories separated.
January 2013Responsible specialist qualification requirements announced and inspection assignment implemented accordingly.
February 2013Graded referral certification system for specialized referral medical laboratories introduced.
February 2014Information Technology Team established under the Research Division.
March 2014National Cancer Center cancer screening quality management research service in the field of laboratory medicine.
July 2014Laboratory Medicine Foundation office relocated to Centreville Asterium, Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
March 2015Computerization project for laboratory certification assessment.
September 2015Commissioned professional-area review service for National Health Insurance Service hospital-level health screening institution assessment.
November 2016Checklist Management Division established, with International Team established under it.
December 2016Commissioned professional-area review service for the integrated second-cycle National Health Insurance Service clinic-level health screening institution assessment.
July 2017Following revision of a Ministry of Health and Welfare notice, Outstanding Laboratory Certification results reflected in calculation of specimen testing quality add-on fees.
December 2017Laboratory Medicine Foundation Outstanding Laboratory Certification Program obtained ISQua (International Society for Quality in Health Care) accreditation.
January 2018Outstanding Laboratory Certification inspection requirement system established (checklist management information system established).
July 2018Outstanding Laboratory Certification inspection management system established.
July 2019Laboratory Medicine Foundation website renewed.
October 2020Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency research service for COVID-19 testing management at private medical institutions.
February 2022Information Management Division, Standardization Division, and International Affairs Division established.
June 2023IEEA Standard Assessment accreditation reacquired (June 2023 to June 2027).
June 2023External Evaluation Association (IEEA) Surveyor Training Program Accreditation obtained (June 2023 to June 2027).
February 2024Next-generation information system for the Laboratory Medicine Foundation established.
December 2025Memorandum of understanding signed with the Korea Institute for Healthcare Accreditation.
