August 2009	Temporary council meeting and founders' general meeting held to establish a foundation funded by the society.
September 2009	Application submitted to the Ministry of Health and Welfare for permission to establish the foundation “Quality Management Standard Institute for Laboratory Medicine.”
November 2009	The first review by the Ministry of Health and Welfare Nonprofit Corporation Review Committee deferred approval and requested a change of corporate name and revision of the articles of incorporation.
March 2010	Name changed to Laboratory Medicine Foundation and part of the articles of incorporation revised, followed by request for re-review to the Health and Medical Policy Division of the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
April 2010	The second review by the Ministry of Health and Welfare Corporation Review Committee approved establishment of the Laboratory Medicine Foundation.
May 2010	Foundation establishment permit issued by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
June 2010	Foundation registration completed with the court.
July 2010	Business registration certificate issued, and registration of the foundation and transfer of contributed funds reported to the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
February 2012	Laboratory Medicine Foundation office relocated to Le Meilleur Jongno Town, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
January 2013	Inspection and assessment for outstanding laboratories and referral testing laboratories separated.
January 2013	Responsible specialist qualification requirements announced and inspection assignment implemented accordingly.
February 2013	Graded referral certification system for specialized referral medical laboratories introduced.
February 2014	Information Technology Team established under the Research Division.
March 2014	National Cancer Center cancer screening quality management research service in the field of laboratory medicine.
July 2014	Laboratory Medicine Foundation office relocated to Centreville Asterium, Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
March 2015	Computerization project for laboratory certification assessment.
September 2015	Commissioned professional-area review service for National Health Insurance Service hospital-level health screening institution assessment.
November 2016	Checklist Management Division established, with International Team established under it.
December 2016	Commissioned professional-area review service for the integrated second-cycle National Health Insurance Service clinic-level health screening institution assessment.
July 2017	Following revision of a Ministry of Health and Welfare notice, Outstanding Laboratory Certification results reflected in calculation of specimen testing quality add-on fees.
December 2017	Laboratory Medicine Foundation Outstanding Laboratory Certification Program obtained ISQua (International Society for Quality in Health Care) accreditation.
January 2018	Outstanding Laboratory Certification inspection requirement system established (checklist management information system established).
July 2018	Outstanding Laboratory Certification inspection management system established.
July 2019	Laboratory Medicine Foundation website renewed.
October 2020	Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency research service for COVID-19 testing management at private medical institutions.
February 2022	Information Management Division, Standardization Division, and International Affairs Division established.
June 2023	IEEA Standard Assessment accreditation reacquired (June 2023 to June 2027).
June 2023	External Evaluation Association (IEEA) Surveyor Training Program Accreditation obtained (June 2023 to June 2027).
February 2024	Next-generation information system for the Laboratory Medicine Foundation established.
December 2025	Memorandum of understanding signed with the Korea Institute for Healthcare Accreditation.
