The Laboratory Medicine Foundation will contribute to improving public health and the quality of healthcare, and will lead future medical innovation through standardization of laboratory medicine services, global cooperation, adoption of advanced technologies, and workforce development.

Since its establishment in 2010, the Laboratory Medicine Foundation has led the standardization and development of laboratory medicine in Korea through a wide range of activities, including the Outstanding Laboratory Certification Program, laboratory quality management, education and research, and international cooperation, with the goal of improving public health and the quality of laboratory medicine. By operating a fair and rigorous Outstanding Laboratory Certification assessment system, the Foundation has contributed significantly to improving public health and strengthening the competitiveness of Korea's in vitro diagnostic industry.

Looking ahead, the Laboratory Medicine Foundation will prepare for the future by focusing on advancement of the laboratory certification system, introduction of digital quality management systems, improvement of diagnostic accuracy using big data and artificial intelligence, stronger alignment with international standards, and development of specialized professionals. In particular, the Foundation will continue to promote laboratory standardization, global cooperation, and expansion of education and research infrastructure, and will strengthen close collaboration with the field of laboratory medicine through expanded quality improvement research projects and diverse opportunities for education and communication, including working committee workshops.

In addition, the Foundation will respond proactively to changes in the future medical environment driven by laboratory medicine big data and AI, and will make every effort to globalize laboratory medicine through innovative research and industry-academia-research-hospital collaboration. The Foundation will continue to fulfill its social responsibility by making practical contributions to public health and healthcare quality, and will further strengthen its role as a central institution in K-medicine.
